What responsibility did the alliance systems play in the outbreak of the war?

I'm guessing WWI so, the alliances kept pulling countries with alliances into the war. For example Serbia drug Austria/ Hungary into the war. (I think) and one of the reasons the US joined the war is because of our close economic ties with France and Great Britain.. (Triple Alliance) Hopefully this answers your question.

The alliance systems in Europe created obligations among nations that caused a local conflict, specifically the assassination of Archduke Ferdinand, to escalate into World War I. Nations were bound to assist their allies, leading to widespread declarations of war and a global conflict. Ultimately, the alliances turned a regional issue into a world war, pulling in multiple countries on both sides.
