2) A spider is crawling on the wall. First, it crawls 1 meter up, then 1 meter left, and then 1 meter down. What is its total displacement?

3) A jogger travels 8.0 km in 1.25 hours. What is the jogger's average speed?

Answer (2)

d = V*t >>>as you double the av. speed the distance become doubled.
after you draw the victors you will find the total displacement = 1 meter to the left.
V =d/t =( 8km)/(1.25hr) = 6.4km/hr

Doubling the average speed of a car also doubles the distance traveled in 2 hours. The spider's total displacement after crawling in different directions is 1 meter to the left. The jogger's average speed while covering 8.0 km in 1.25 hours is 6.4 km/h.
