Why are two photosystems necessary?

Asked by MelodieLangton

Answer (3)

they are necessary because these systems absorb energy from the photon and then conserve the energy in the transfer of electrons .. single photosystem cannot carry out the transfer because of absorbing low amount of energy ..

A single photosystem can't provide enough energy for the electrons it transfers its energy to.

Two photosystems, PSI and PSII, are necessary in photosynthesis for efficient light energy conversion. PSII captures light to split water and generate ATP, while PSI re-energizes electrons to produce NADPH. Together, they ensure that plants can effectively utilize the sun's energy for their metabolic needs.
