Find the distance and displacement for this question:

Jamie spins around 5 times without moving in any direction.

The distance and displacement are both zero.
If you took a photo of Jamie before she started spinning, and another one after she finished spinning, you couldn't tell the difference in the photos.
Her center of mass never moved, and all of her motion produced no change in her 'position' (location).

Jamie spun around 5 times in place with zero net movement, resulting in a total displacement of zero, as her starting and ending positions are identical. Although she traveled a distance while spinning, it does not affect her displacement because her location did not change. Therefore, distance is not applicable for her overall movement in terms of displacement.
