Two cubes are made of silver and have equal edges. One of the cubes is hollow.

Explain how to determine the volume of the space in the hollow cube.

You may take measurements of the cube, but you may not damage the cube.

How thick are the edges of the cube, because you would measure the cube and subtract however thick the edges are from the total.

Measure the edge length of the cube and calculate the volume of the solid cube . Weigh both cubes and find the difference in mass. The volume of the hollow space in the cube can be determined by dividing this mass difference by the density of silver. ;

To find the volume of the hollow space in a hollow silver cube, first measure its edge length and calculate the volume of a solid cube. Then weigh both cubes to find the mass difference, and divide this by the known density of silver to get the volume of the hollow space. This method ensures accurate measurement without any damage to the cube.
