Which is larger: 0.7 or \(\frac{3}{5}\)?

Asked by Zamoraalexis

Answer (3)

0.7 = 7/10 (decimal to fraction)
3/5 = 6/10 (multiplied by 2 to create a common denominator)
So 0.7 is larger

you can figure this out by turning 5 3 into a decimal you do that by dividing the numerator by the denominator so 3 divided by 5 equals 0.6 so now which is grater 0.7 or 0.6 0.7 is greater than 5 3

0.7 is larger than 5 3  . To compare them, 0.7 can be expressed as 10 7  , while 5 3  can be converted to 10 6  . Since 10 7  is greater than 10 6  , we find that 0.7 is indeed larger.
