The Muslim world kept records and copies of Ancient Greek texts which had highly advanced levels of thinking. During the Middle Ages these texts were lost in Europe, but during the Renaissance these texts were rediscovered and led to the rediscovery of Aristotelian thinking and advanced region and logic. In addition other concepts were held onto in these texts such as mathematics.

The Muslim world preserved and advanced learning during the Middle Ages by translating ancient texts, making original contributions in various fields, and establishing centers of learning. Key figures such as Al-Khwarizmi and Ibn Sina played significant roles in this intellectual revival. The knowledge preserved by Muslim scholars eventually influenced the Renaissance and shaped modern science and philosophy.
