An unbalanced force is required to make a resting object move or a moving object change speed or direction

According to Newtons law of motions
Law 1 states that everybody will continue to be at rest or uniform motion in a straight line unless compelled to change that state by an external force
Law 2 states that the rate of change of momentum of a body is proportional to the external force and takes place in the direction of the force
Law 3 states that to every action there must be an opposite reaction

To make a resting object move or change the speed or direction of a moving object, an external force is necessary. This concept is explained by Newton's laws of motion, which state that an object remains at rest or in uniform motion unless acted upon by a force. Additionally, the force applied affects the motion in terms of acceleration and direction.
