These are not perfect answers. Science is us trying to understand the world around us and provide evidence for it. A and B are wrong. C could be true as science is used in everything we do all the time, so it isn't necessarily wrong. D could also be true but it is also used to explain theoretical phenomena, such as quantum physics etc.
If I were to make a choice I would say D.
