Without the ability to grow these plants, their products would not become a part of the cuisine. Cuisine is also largely influenced by the religion of a specific culture. Cuisine is influenced by climate, geography, culture, and religion, shaping what foods are available and popular in particular countries. Climate affects growth of food, geography influences access, culture defines preferences, and religious beliefs create dietary restrictions. Historical interactions, such as trade, also play a role in the evolution of local cuisines.
