What military advantages and disadvantages did the Romans have?

ok,so the romans had an advantage on land because of their superior skills of combat and dicipline.Their one disadvantage was that they had no navy at all,because they thought of travelling over water as bad luck,and also because their military was too large for the commanders to organize them, because it would be like 8 commanders getting the attention of 100,000,000 soldiers
