Is [tex]\frac{3}{4}[/tex] equivalent to [tex]\frac{8}{12}[/tex]?

No since 8/12 is 2/3 in its simplest form (if u divide the numerator and denominator by 4) and also both fractions have different decimal values, 3/4=0.75 and 8/12=0.66666 recurring

to get to 8/12 you would have to x by 3 = 9/12 so that is wrongs

No, 4 3 ​ is not equivalent to 12 8 ​ . On simplifying 12 8 ​ , we get 3 2 ​ , which is different from 4 3 ​ . Therefore, the two fractions represent different values.
