I'm going to change those to 5/2 and 8/7 Dividing is the same multiplying by the reciprocal (reciprocal of x is 1/x, reciprocal of x/y is y/x) So (5/2)/(8/7)=(5/2) (7/8)=(5 7)/(2*8)=35/16 Final answer: 35/16

2 2 1 = 2 2 × 2 + 1 = 2 5 1 7 1 = 7 1 × 7 + 1 = 7 8 2 2 1 : 1 7 1 = 2 5 : 7 8 = 2 5 × 8 7 = 16 35 = 16 32 + 3 = 16 32 + 16 3 = 2 16 3

To divide the mixed numbers 2 2 1 and 1 7 1 , convert them to improper fractions, resulting in 2 5 and 7 8 . Divide by multiplying by the reciprocal to get 16 35 , which can also be expressed as 2 16 3 .
