How do I find the answer to the equation?

\[ x \cdot \frac{5}{7} = \frac{30}{7} \]

or

\[ x \cdot \frac{5}{7} = 4 \frac{2}{7} \]

Answer (3)

(What) times 5/7 = 30/7
Divide each side by 5/7 .
(What) = (30/7) divided by (5/7) = (30/7) x (7/5) = 30/5 = 6 .
(What) = 6
===============================
Easier way:
(What) x (5/7) = 30/7
Multiply each side by 7 : (What) x (5) = (30)
Divide each side by 5 : (What) = 6

so the denominator (bottom number) is the same so we just want to change the numerator(top number) so 5 times what=30 in the multiplication table we remember that 5 times 6=30 so 5/7 time 6/1=30/7=(5 6)/(7 1)

To find x in the equation x ⋅ 7 5  = 7 30  or 4 7 2  , divide both sides by 7 5  . This results in x = 6 for both equations. Therefore, the answer is x = 6 .
