The Indian Removal Act of 1830 was supported by Andrew Jackson, the act forced members of Native American tribes to leave their lands in the East and relocate further West. Most Whigs also opposed this legislation. However, three of the five tribes did NOT favor the legislation because they welcomed the opportunity for westward expansion. The Indian Removal Act of 1830 led to the forcible removal of Indians form the Southeast which can be considered ethnic cleansing and was not supported by the Native American tribes themselves.

The Indian Removal Act of 1830 was supported by Andrew Jackson and resulted in the forced relocation of the Five Civilized Tribes to lands west of the Mississippi River. Most tribes opposed the legislation, contradicting option D, which incorrectly claims that three tribes favored it due to a desire for westward expansion. Therefore, the answer choice that is not true is D.
