The S phase of a cell cycle occurs during interphase before mitosis or meiosis, and is responsible for the synthesis or replication of DNA ;

I Think this is the cell cycle. S phase is the synthesis phase. It is the replication of the DNA and splitting of the cytoplasm.

The S phase, or Synthesis phase, is when a cell replicates its DNA and duplicates its centrosome to prepare for cell division. This phase ensures that each daughter cell receives identical genetic material. It takes place after the G1 phase and before the G2 phase in the cell cycle.
