What will happen is that the Mediterranean sea would cease to exist and since the plates would hit each other, the result would be formation of mountains. We've seen this with the Himalayas who got formed in the exact same manner and will only continue to grow, except on a different part of the world where the continental plates are already meeting.
So in about 100 million years the plates/continents will probably collide causing the following.
Mountains will form.
The ocean will get smaller because of the mountains.
And the continents will be joined together.
The African Plate's movement toward the Eurasian Plate will likely cause the formation of new mountain ranges and significant changes to the Mediterranean Sea over the next 100 million years. This could lead to the eventual disappearance of the Mediterranean and perhaps the creation of a supercontinent. Geological activity in the region will be characterized by plate collisions and uplift.
