If you move a decimal to the right it gets bigger If you move a decimal to the left is gets smaller
So if you had 0.864 and moved the decimal two places to the right it becomes 86.4 If you had 4.678 and moved the decimal two places to the left is becomes 0.04678
Hope this helps Hugs ~L
If you move it to the left the number would increase so for example you had 2.3 and you move it to the left then it would be 23, so if you times it by tenth or hundredth then it would go to the left but if you divide then it would go down so moving to the right would get you 0.23
As you move the decimal point right, the number increases in value, while moving it left decreases the value. Each move to the right multiplies the number by 10, and each move to the left divides it by 10. Zeros may be used as placeholders when necessary to maintain the correct value.
