A child’s toy rake is held so that its output arm is 0.75 meters. If the mechanical advantage is 0.33, what is the input arm length?

To calculate the input arm length of a child’s toy rake when the output arm is 0.75 meters and the mechanical advantage is 0.33, you can use the relationship between the mechanical advantage (MA), the input arm (IA), and the output arm (OA). This relationship is expressed as:
MA = OA / IA
Rearranging the formula to solve for the input arm length, you get:
IA = OA / MA
Substituting the given values:
IA = 0.75m / 0.33
IA = 2.27 meters (approximately)
The input arm of the toy rake is approximately 2.27 meters long.

Input= ? Output= 0.75 MA= 0.33
So I just kept on Dividing numbers until I was close to "0.33" & I cam up with the answer of .......... 0.25.
So when you divide 0.25 by 0.75 you get the MA of 0.33

The input arm length of the child's toy rake is approximately 0.25 meters when calculated using the mechanical advantage formula. By substituting the known values for the output arm length and mechanical advantage, we can find the input arm length. This illustrates how levers distribute forces and distances effectively.
