Genghis Khan united the Mongols through strategic alliances, military innovations, and promoting leaders based on merit rather than lineage. In 1206, he was recognized as Genghis Khan at a khuriltai, consolidating his authority and fostering a shared identity among the tribes. His leadership transformed fragmented factions into a cohesive empire, paving the way for further expansions.
