Why is the climate so hot near the equator?

There are a number of reasons why it is hotter near the equator. The chief factor is that the sun is at a rather slant angle at the poles when the sun is overhead at the equator. Another factor is absorption and scattering of sunshine as it passes through the atmosphere.

The climate near the equator is hotter primarily due to direct sunlight hitting the Earth at a nearly 90-degree angle, which concentrates solar energy. The curvature of the Earth causes sunlight to be more spread out at higher latitudes, resulting in lower temperatures. Additionally, the equator has a surplus of solar energy that leads to consistently warm weather.
