One obvious answer: it made life easier. The invention of the steam engine led to the construction of railways all over America. It lessened travel time across the large country. As for communication, with the introduction of the Morse Code, telegraph stations were also built everywhere, making communication easier. That being said, these inventions made innovation possible - it could be improved, and it was improved.

In the 1800s, innovations in industry, travel, and communication transformed American life by enhancing economic growth, improving efficiency in trade and communication, and prompting social changes like urbanization. The Industrial Revolution fueled the rise of factories, railroads connected cities, and the telegraph improved long-distance communication. However, these advancements also had negative effects on Native American populations and created challenging working conditions in factories.
