The electrical impulse travels over synapses by going through a chemical reaction. It travels to your central nervous system. as a motor neuron, it then is an effector which your body shows the response to. The response is you quickly lifting your foot up.
When stepping on a pin, sensory receptors detect the stimulus, sending signals through sensory neurons to the spinal cord. The reflex arc processes this information and triggers motor neurons to contract muscles, pulling your foot away. This rapid response helps protect the body from injury.
