Answer (3)

50 g o f C 2 H 4 O 2 in 200 g H 2 O
so:
200 + 50 50 + 100% = 250 50 ∗ 100 % = 20%
M W o f a c i d = 2 ∗ C + 4 ∗ H + 2 ∗ O = 2 ∗ 12 + 4 ∗ 1 + 2 ∗ 16 =
= 24 + 4 + 32 = 60 g / m o l
so:
60 g / m o l 50 g ≈ 0.83 m o l es
it means that
in 50 g of acid there is ≈ 0.83 moles of acid
M W o f H 2 O = 2 ∗ H + O = 2 ∗ 1 + 16 = 2 + 16 = 18 g / m o l
so:
18 g / m o l 200 g ≈ 11.11 m o l es
it means that:
in 200 g of water there is ≈ 11.11 moles of water
therefore:
11.11 m o l + 0.83 m o l 0.83 m o l = 11.94 m o l 0.83 m o l = 0.069
So your answers are:
20%
and the mole fraction is:
0.069
