On a weather map for County A, the isobars are far apart. On a map for County B, about 100 miles away, the isobars are close together.

Which map shows high winds? How can you tell?

Wind is caused by differences in pressure. Isobars represent pressure - thus if there are more closer together there is a stronger wind - so it's country B.

The closer the isobars are, the windier it is. Therefore, Country B has high winds.
Hope this helps. :)

The map for County B shows high winds because its isobars are close together. Close isobars indicate a steep pressure gradient, resulting in faster moving air. In contrast, the isobars in County A are far apart, suggesting lighter winds.
