Simplify \(\left(\frac{1}{x+1}\right) + \left(\frac{1}{x-1}\right)\).

Is it \(\frac{2}{x^2 - 1}\)?

Relax. Do you see that plus " + " sign in the middle ? That means there's no multiplication involved, only addition and combining like terms. You can just erase all the parentheses and add everything up. I think you end up with just 2/x .

The expression ( x + 1 1 ) + ( x − 1 1 ) simplifies to x 2 − 1 2 x . It involves finding a common denominator, which is x 2 − 1 , and then combining the fractions. Therefore, the original suggestion was incorrect.
