What is the difference between binary fission and multiple fission?

Asked by SaritaMullet473

Answer (2)

During binary fission mitosis occcure so resultant individuals are identical to parents and to each other. It is asexual reproduction. The nucleus of the unicellular parent organism divides into two. During multiple fussion amitosis occure so there are many divisions of nucleus of unicellular parent organism.

Binary fission produces two identical daughter cells from one parent cell, involving DNA replication and cytoplasmic division. In contrast, multiple fission results in the division of one parent cell into several daughter cells simultaneously after multiple nuclear divisions. Both are forms of asexual reproduction but differ significantly in their processes and outcomes.
