How do you determine if the line segments are congruent?

Asked by Sarimahere

Answer (3)

You must calculate the length of the segments.
Suppose segments AB and CD Being A (m, n), B (p, q) C(r,s) and D(t,u) They are congruent if:
( p − m ) 2 + ( q − n ) 2 = ( t − r ) 2 + ( u − s ) 2

You can know if they are congruent by the length of both lines!

To determine if two line segments are congruent, calculate the length of each segment using the distance formula. If the lengths are equal, the segments are congruent; if not, they are not congruent. The distance formula is d = ( x 2 − x 1 ) 2 + ( y 2 − y 1 ) 2 .
