No. It's the difference of two squares, and so can be easily factored:
x² - 36 = (x + 6) (x - 6)
Multiply those out and you'll see.

The expression x 2 − 36 can be factored completely as ( x − 6 ) ( x + 6 ) . It is not a prime expression since it can be broken down into these two factors. Both factors are linear and cannot be factored further.
