Jack had 50 sweets. He dropped 6, gave away 4, and cut 7 in half. How many sweets did he have left?

if this is supposed to be a trick question, you can pick up candy if you drop it, and if he cut 7 in half, he still has 7, their just in halfs. so really, you just need to subtract 50 and 4, and you'll get 46.

Jack has 40 whole sweets left, along with 7 half-sweets, which totals 43.5 sweets overall. If we only count whole sweets, he has 40. He cannot have a fraction of a sweet physically, so he effectively has 43 sweets when considering whole and half-sweets together.
