LA MITOSE :Involves somatic cells and provides birth identical to the parent cell during the asexual multiplication cells (it thus preserves genetic information) and MEIOSE results in the production of gametes or sexual reproductive cells .

MITOSIS-division which results in two daughter cells each having same number of chromosomes as those of parent cell. MEIOSIS-division which results in four daughter cells each having half the number of chromosome as those of parent cell.

Mitosis creates two identical diploid cells for growth and repair, while meiosis generates four genetically unique haploid cells for sexual reproduction. Both processes involve cell division but serve different purposes. Mitosis is for regular cell replication, whereas meiosis specifically produces gametes needed for fertilization.
