biologia? as far as i remember from school the receptors are the parts of our body (such as skin, pores, nose, mouth, ears, eyes..) that give our system information about what's going on on the outside. For example if it is cold our body receptors will sense that and the biological response to cold will begin (hair lifting up, trembling of the muscles to produce heat etc). The same goes for heat, the body will start sweating to cool off. If the receptors did not work properly the body could not understand hot or cold or anything that has to do with senses. You can figure out what would happen if you could not feel a thing. You could die from cold, or from a heatwave because your body would be unable to understand the risk and fight it with its mechanisms.

receptors are the organs or tissues that help in transmitting external stimulus to electric impulses. examples are nose, eyes etc. when these receptors fail to work sensations may not be recived from that part or due to that particular stimulus

Receptors in our body detect and respond to various stimuli, converting them into electrical signals for processing in the nervous system. If receptors malfunction, it can result in loss of sensations, impaired motor responses, and other serious health issues. They play a critical role in maintaining our awareness of the environment and ensuring our safety.
