"Poetry" is the entire art / work of a poet. It is a divisional part of literature as much as prose is. "Poems" belong to poetry as an intrinsic part.
On the other hand, some prose can be seen as poetry if it has poetry-like characteristics: higher sensitivity, melodic parts, extreme beauty of line thoughts.

Poetry is a literary art that uses language's aesthetic and rhythmic qualities to elicit deeper meanings and feelings. A poem is a crafted event in language, and its elements are designed to create an impactful reader experience that is difficult to paraphrase.
Poetry is a form of literary art that uses the aesthetic and rhythmic qualities of language to evoke meanings in addition to, or in place of, the prosaic ostensible meaning. It is often recognized not only by its use of line, meter, and stanzas as opposed to prose, but also by its dense compression of language to evoke feelings in the reader. The word poem signifies a 'made thing,' a verbal construction that's an event in language. The elements of poetry such as tone, pace, rhythm, and sound, allow poets to control language to shape a reader's physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual experience.
Edward Hirsch, in his book How to Read a Poem and Fall in Love with Poetry, describes a poem as a 'verbal construct, an event in language'. Similar to what Anthony Piccione stated, 'A poem is what a poem does,' highlighting the idea that the impact of a poem is perceived through the experience it produces in the reader, thus necessitating full concentration and often multiple readings.

A poem is a specific work of poetry, which is a distinct form of literary art. Poetry utilizes aesthetic and rhythmic qualities of language to express emotions and ideas, often distinguished by its structure in lines and stanzas. Both poetry and poems invite deep emotional and intellectual engagement from the reader.
